Lalo Marquez shares how the Mobile Art & Design Studio fills in the void left by budget cuts and how art can transform a kids’ life.

An Initiative To Bring New Opportunities

Our Sailing Program offers youth the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of sailing a boat, apply STEM education, improve communication, build teamwork, and have fun in the sun!

Classes can vary from one-time recreational exposure sessions to 5-6 week courses with a set cohort of youth. Sessions are held at Mothers Beach in Marina Del Rey under the supervision and guidance of Club staff and ASA/ACA certified instructors.

A social enterprise venture giving youth the opportunity to learn!

The Boys & Girls Club of West San Gabriel Valley is launching JR’s CEO Club, a program designed to teach teens about business and entrepreneurship in a supportive, hands-on setting. Teens will participate in a 5 month program featuring rotating instructors and guest speakers who will expose teens to a broad range of experience in the for profit and nonprofit sectors. Following the model of Tell, Show, Try and Do, teens will work with business mentors to create, design and develop their own business ideas, utilizing the Boys & Girls Club Teen Post as both a hands-on place of learning how to run a business, and as a place in which they can launch their own.
