What We Do

The Boys & Girls Club of West San Gabriel Valley & Eastside

A cornerstone of the community since we first opened our doors in 1972.

We provide a safe, structured environment for young people after school, during holidays and on summer vacation. Youth ages 6-17 are encouraged to join and open the door to all of the fun and exciting activities we have to offer.

In every community, without safe and supervised after school activities, boys and girls are left to find their own recreation and companionship in the streets. An increasing number of children are at home with no adult care or supervision. Young people need to know that someone cares about them. The Boys & Girls Club of West San Gabriel Valley offers that and more. Club programs and services promote and enhance the development of our members by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence.

We are a safe place to learn and grow—all while having fun.

    Our Story

The Boys & Girls Club of West San Gabriel Valley

Was established in 1972 under the leadership of our founder, Dr. Friedrich Thomas. Realizing there was no place for his own children to participate in after school activities, Dr. Thomas helped start the club by donating the building and providing seed money to initiate club programming.
